Our school
In 2002, after providing childcare in different churches in Brookline and West Roxbury, we built a unique school specifically designed for the early childhood years. Nestled between the Charles River and Millennium Park, our building is filled with natural light and inviting spaces. Each classroom has plenty of room for indoor activities and direct access to our playground.

Our spaces for learning and play

Outdoors
Our playground has two climbing structures, a large sandbox, hoops for shooting, bikes for riding and quiet benches beside our dogwood tree for reading and relaxing. Children have the freedom to dream up their own games and engage with the outdoors at their own pace. We also take regular trips to Millennium Park for games, nature walks and visits to our adopted Happy Day tree.

Cozy Corner
Because every child needs a break during the day! Our cozy corner is stocked with blankets and books for our friends to feel safe and secure while they quiet their minds.

Garden
Connecting with nature is a key element of the Happy Day philosophy. Children have the chance to plant, water and tend to vegetables in our raised garden beds. We even hold a Happy Day farmers market for our classrooms in the summer! Friends sample tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and more — all with the knowledge that they helped them grow.
