Welcome to
Pre-Kindergarten

The question that we ask most in our Pre-K classroom: “What would happen if…?” Open-ended exploration and cooperative play help our Pre-K friends engage with their growing curiosity about the world.

What to expect in Pre-K

The Pre-K classroom serves as a bridge between our younger classrooms and the more independent nature of our Pre-Kindergarten / Kindergarten (Pre-K/K) classroom. In large group, small group and one-on-one settings, Pre-K friends learn how to share feelings, organize cooperative play, manage conflict, pose problems and discover the solutions!

Science: Building a marshmallow launch to understand fulcrums.

Art: Painting with the wheels of a car.

Math: Measuring the length of our painted tire tracks with a cloth tape measure.

Social/Emotional: How do we politely decline an invitation to play in our construction drama area?

“Children’s Happy Day School has a special place in my heart. Both my older boys spent their entire preschool years there and my youngest boy is coming next fall. Happy Day is a big family that has become a part of my own family!”
