Preschool 2
Play and discovery define the days in our P2 classroom. As their language and skills increase and they form strong bonds with friends, we can focus on expanded opportunities for both listening and presenting during group circle time and on building math and reading skills.
What to expect in P2
Through play in hands-on activities rich in science, math, literature and art, children build skills to prepare them for our Pre-Kindergarten and PreK/Kindergarten programs and/or public and private kindergarten.

Philosophy & Curriculum
Our P2 friends’ growing language and physical skills, along with their developing friendships and curiosity, provide the basis for our rich and inviting curriculum. Children explore art, blocks, drama and more through choice time, and work on small and whole group activities throughout the day. We base our monthly units on specific themes that interest our students.
Here are examples from when P2 explores healthy eating:
Literacy: Reading “Eating the Alphabet” and sorting foods into fruits or vegetables.
Math: Graphing the foods in our lunch box.
Science: Using our five senses to identify different types of foods.
Art: Painting still life displays of fruits and vegetables.
Drama: Shopping in our classroom supermarket, making grocery lists and working the cash register.
